No matter what it is you go after or want to go after, you will somewhere down the road lose motivation. Most of the time it’s a matter of simply shifting a few things to get back on track, but sometimes it could be that it’s something that can’t be changed.
we learn from trial and error, but a mistake I made and many are still making, is they try to learn only from their own mistakes. Learning from your mistakes is a step up, but many have done what you want to accomplish, which means pitfalls you are falling into have already been written about.
Here are the main reasons most of you are losing motivation. Take these lessons to heart so you know how to fix it and get back on track.
You’re chasing the wrong thing
When I first started as an entrepreneur about 5 years ago, I didn’t even know what an entrepreneur was. I was kicked out of my mother’s house and lived with a friend. I didn’t like going to work that much, considering I was fired from my first job after 28 days.
I started by trying to write a book. I took classes to become a CNA until I started reading blogs online about entrepreneurship and how they were making passive income up to 150k+. So rather than finding something that was meaningful, or something that could help someone else. I went after the money.
I started a drop shipping company selling perfumes. Time passed and I made no money, but I did lose a lot of money as well as my motivation.
I went after the wrong thing, so my motivation slipped and my depression spiked.
If you’re losing motivation take a look at what you’re doing and ask if this is the right thing, or if you’re just chasing money. Because those that chase money never get it, but those that set out to make a change in the world, money will chase them.
You’re chasing too many things
When you go after your dreams, your enthusiastic, and just can’t wait to get started. All sorts of ideas pop into your head and you jump right in.
It’s good to have all that energy when you start because you will need it. An entrepreneurs job is many. As an example, if you run a blog, you are the CEO, marketing specialist, content writer, promoter, designer, social media expert and much more.
But you have to remember you must focus on one, or it will seem like you’re getting nowhere. It will seem like you are doing nothing but making a to lists that never ends or shrink. If you are losing motivation, pick one thing that is important to the blog as the example and work on that.
It may seem slow, but slow is better and you will feel more accomplished at the end.
The hardest way to build an empire is to do it alone.
Support is hard to come by because when you start to do better than others they become envious of you. Most will retract, a lot will stop talking to you and the ones that are close will try and keep you in the crab trap by pulling you down.
Support may be hard to come by, but if you are able to find it, it’s a good idea to take advantage of it. I won’t tell you to find a mentor, although if you are stuck finding a mentor is a really good idea.
no, what I’m telling you to do is to find someone that will hold you accountable to your words. Whether you hate them or not, they will make sure you do what you said you were going to do and in return, you do the same.
When you lose the will to go on, s/he will push you to keep going, and it doesn’t hurt to feel you have company because working in the dark alone can get pretty lonely at times.
There are many things that can make someone lose their motivation, but I wanted to keep this short and only put what I felt was important.
Shifting into something new is all a matter of habit. When you try something you are not used to doing you are bound to slip, mess up, but what you must never do is give up.
To keep your motivation strong, eat properly so you don’t become sluggish. Constantly find ways to improve yourself. Always find ways to become a better you. You are your biggest fan, your biggest obstacle, and your greatest competitor.
Take advantage of knowing that. Apply these simple steps to your life and see how it will change dramatically.
