Not everyone can become an entrepreneur. Sure the word gets tossed around when we become unemployed, but not many are willing to put in the work it takes.
Money doesn’t mean success, though it’s nice to have. Success is the way you carry yourself, what you’re willing to do and the sacrifices you are willing to make.
If you carry these trends, it means you’ve grown from the old you and want more out of life. If you haven’t, maybe it’s time that you do.
1. Move with urgency
Most people are sluggish. I don’t mean that as in they aren’t eating right, but they are sluggish with time and let it past them by. Time is the most important thing above all and those that utilize it in the proper way will always get what they want.
Successful entrepreneurs know to avoid that island everyone is living on. You know, Someday island. Where everyone talks about what they used to do and what they are going to do some time in the future.
The future will remain about the same, but you can change that. Time is on your side now, and there is no better time to begin. To call yourself an entrepreneur use time to your advantage and start putting in work.
2. Create multiple mentors
People think having a mentor is going out and finding someone and hopefully, they will teach you. Successful people don’t have that kind of time. But don’t fret. The world is full of mentors, you just have to pick the right ones.
unless your friend or lazy uncle is rich, his advice doesn’t count for the line of being your mentor. One of my favorite mentors is Jim Rohn. He passed away, but he left videos for me, books and many other things that i can learn from.
It’s a good thing to find you a mentor, but if you can’t find an actual mentor use the books the previous ones left behind telling you how they did it, what works and what doesn’t.
3. Ignore people’s opinions
People will always have opinions, but you have to be mentally tough and don’t waver. The hunt to become something great will always attract those that want to hurt you, people who envy and are willing to do whatever it takes to bring you down. Not everyone has the guts it takes to go after their dream, so they want to keep you from reaching it so they don’t look bad.
So many people live in the shadows of others. Afraid of what people think of them. If they go after something and fail what people will say and how they will laugh, but you have to be determined and have confidence like no other. Because opinions don’t pay the rent and rarely does opinions make someone truly happy.
4. Grow your strengths
Why would you focus on your weaknesses? It takes time to build such things and though everyone is telling you that’s what you should do I’m telling you not to. Successful entrepreneurs don’t focus on their weaknesses, rather they focus and build on their strengths.
Build your weaknesses by having the right people around you. People that will pick up and compliment your weaknesses. Don’t you see that the highly successful entrepreneurs surround themselves with people who are smarter and better than them.
5. Aim to make a change
Anyone can aim for money. Anyone can chase after money, though it doesn’t mean they’ll ever get it.
Being a successful entrepreneur means your aim in your journey is to make a change in the world or in someone else’s life and in return, you might become wealthy.
People won’t pay you just because you have a passion. Because you work 20 hour days for what you love. People want what will help them. What will change their life or something they never had before. So don’t chase money, Make a difference and the money will come to you.
Don’t hold yourself responsible. Hold yourself accountable. For whatever has happened and will happen in your life.
Talk is cheap, unless you are willing to put in the action. To call yourself a successful entrepreneur, means you understand these five things. You will not sit around like most complaining or tell everyone what you will do someday.
You have the right tool and are living in the right time to make something happen for yourself, so make it happened.
